#7 What motivates us to take action
Motivating people to take action IRL (in real life) is a lot more difficult than you might think it would be. As a marketer, the phrase "motivating people to action" is something I hear thrown around constantly. And sure, in a sense, it is. However, what I find truly fascinating is that, upon researching the subject further I've discovered it's actually not motivation that prompts us to take action. It's something else entirely different.
In this episode we look at what motivates people to take action (or as I like to think of it, what drives someone to go beyond the status quo) through the lens of citizenship in the 21st century. We discuss activating people at all levels—individual, local, and global. And, we take a look at some of the organizations we see leading the pack on this initiative in our society today, like the Obama Foundation for example.
